Free Submission

I began blogging around mid-2007 as a way to divert my mind away from alcohol. Slowly but surely I have established a very loyal follower base. The mere notion that anyone would   read and acknowledge acted to further my input on the blogging front. Using Google Adsense my blogging now raises more than a few dollars every month.

As time has progressed and I have delved deeper into the statistical area, I'm pretty-well clueless....and it's not through lack of trying. I'm stumped.....well....I was stumped. I came up with an idea that has already been in use by most 'pro' bloggers (more about them shortly) for quite some time. The solution was so simple that it's brilliant. A subscription form (!).

Prior to this idea, I was finding that Feedburner statistics weren't adding up to Google analytics which in turn weren't adding up to my tiny.cc statistics.

So....I have decided to gradually taper off blog subscription via Feedburner. It's a tough call but it will be a test of readers who will continue and will show me how many unique visitors my blogs get. The first to become 'subscription only' Is 'Everything Is Broken.'

All current blogs will remain 100% free. having said this, I am working on a 'mega-blog' which will attract a $5.00-year subscription fee. Again, this will test the strength and loyalty of my readers as they know what 'genre' my blog will be.

Having read countless blogs, there is a definite pattern to the most popular blogs. They all solve problems for you (whether you want it or not), they all want your email to add to their list and before you know it, you're being offered a free set of saucepans.  I can't stand their patronising attempts at humour either.

"People like free stuff." This is another patronising term doing the rounds in the world of 24/7 bloggers. It's catchy but not entirely accurate....like a lot of their buzzwords.

What you get in my blogs are either well researched material or stories from a rather unorthodox life. Don't forget what's going on at 'Everything Is Broken.' You can do the same for this free blog below as this blog will, at a later date, become a subscription required blog.
